Kinetic Art Festival (Light Move Festival) in Łódź is an event I took part in for the first time last year. Although for a long time I’ve remembered enormous crowd at the streets and other people’s elbows in my ribs I decided to take part in this year edition. Because I like watching tenements singing and dancing and streets full of people till the late hours.
Festivals of lights, very popular and taking place in many places around Europe, are using so called “maping” i.e.: putting two-dimensional textures on three-dimensional objects. Nothing strange – impressive animations, enlivening facades of the buildings arouse euphoria among the spectators. I also feel it, never mind cold which turned me into Tom Waits (or Janis Joplin) – I moved with my husband to Łódź. Children were left at home, we still remember traumatic feelings we faced last year when we were stuck in giant jam trying to save our son (3 years old then) travelling in a trolley. So – without children but with cold – we appeared in Łódź.
